Two members of the public came to the meeting to discuss their concerns regarding speeding along the A496 and the dangers by the Frondeg junction and a video was shown of a car turning into Cae Cethin and nearly creating an accident with cars coming from the Harlech direction. They were asking if it would be possible to reduce the speed limit from 40 m.p.h down to 30 m.p.h along this stretch of the A496. The two were thanked for brining this matter to the attention of the Council. At the end of the meeting this matter was discussed and it was agreed not to bring the speed limit down but that Cllr. Gwynfor Owen would ask Gwynedd Council if it would be possible to install advisory signs by Frondeg and install traffic calming measures on the road.
The Council’s congratulations were extended to Cllr. Osian Edwards and family following the birth of twins.
MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting held on May 14th 2025 were found to be correct.
MATTERS ARISING

Budget Plan
It was reported that the Council had spent £1,409.08 (which included bank charges) since the start of the new financial year and this was £5,274.01 less expenditure than what was earmarked in the budget for the year.
Council’s insurance policy
The Clerk reported that she had contacted the Insurance company with regard to the Council’s policy asking for them to delete mowers and machinery and sports equipment from the policy and had received a reply stating that they structure their insurance policy as a package providing a set minimum level of cover and they do this to try and ensure that Councils have adequate cover and don’t have to tell them every time there is a change to a sum insured, as long as it is within the cover limit, saving the Council time on administration. Also stating that they can increase the insurance cover at any time but they cannot remove or reduce the below sections individually.

Grass Cutting of Public Footpaths
The Clerk reported that she had contacted the Footpaths Officer in Gwynedd Council regarding the Council’s failure to get a contractor to cut the grass of the public footpaths in the area and that he had suggested that the Council contact Mr. Peter Roberts and Mr. Llur Edwards to ask if they would have an interest in carrying out the work. It was agreed before contacting these contractors to send a copy of the footpaths that are cut annually to Cllr. Guy Slater.
Information Board in Llandanwg
The Clerk reported that she had contacted the Maritime Office in Gwynedd Council regarding the above matter and also she had received an e-mail from Mrs Carole Beavis from Llandanwg stating that she had been in touch with the Maritime Officer and that he had stated that they did not have the funds available at the moment to purchase an information board, but they were willing to contribute to the cost of purchasing one and also willing to install it. Mrs Beavis was asking if the Council would be willing to contribute £500 towards purchasing an information board. It was agreed to ask Gwynedd Council if they were willing to install an aliminium noticeboard on the wall of the toilets and install information that sticks on it. Also to ask Gwynedd Council to create the design that will be needed on it and also agreed on the size of the noticeboard.

The Treasurer reported that there was £15,272.65 in the bank, £5,748.11 in the reserve account .

The above payments were processesed by the Cllr. Robert G. Owen and Cllr. David J. Roberts approved the payments and permission was granted to the Clerk/Treasurer to make payment on line or by cheque at the end of the meeting.

CORRESPONDANCE
Gwynedd Council – Highways Department
Received a letter from the above notifying the Council that they are going to install 3 direction posts, clear vegetation, modify gates, scrape the path surface, scrape steps, and redirect water as well as repair the fence line on public footpaths number 22, 23, and 27 during this month.
ANY OTHER MATTER
It was agreed to remove the bench that has broken in the car park at Llandanwg and ask Cllr. Hywel Jones to deal with this matter.
Wanted to ask the Highways Department to cut back the hedge that is opposite Gelli, Llandanwg
GWYNEDD COUNCIL MATTERS
Cllr. Gwynfor Owen reported that he had put in a motion for the next full Council meeting of Gwynedd Council with regards to the under funding of the railways in Wales.
He had received a request for a walkway to be created down in Llandanwg and wanted the opinion of the Community Council with regards to this and after a discussion it was agreed that the Community Council objected to this idea.
Cllr. Annwen Hughes reported that she had contacted the Our Area Tidy Team to ask them to remove the weeds in the village car park and that this work had now been carried out.
She had received an e-mail from Gwynedd Council stating that work was been carried out to upgrade the cremators at Bangor crematorium and this meant from now until December 2025 only 4 services a day will be held and no Saturday services will be held.
Members of the public had contacted her stating concern that the Ffridd Rasus site was closing and because of this she had held a meeting with one of the Officers from Gwynedd Council to find out what the latest situation was with regards to this site and she had been informed there are no plans to shut the site but they are not open to the public on a Monday morning on the basis of health and safety.
