MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting held on January 7th 2026 were found to be correct.
MATTERS ARISING
Budget Plan
It was reported that the Council had spent £16,693.87 (which included bank charges) since the start of the new
financial year and this was £799.51 more expenditure than what was earmarked in the budget for the year.
Cemetery Wall
The Clerk reported that she had received a reply from One Voice Wales regarding the above matter and that they
stated the Council should contact their insurance company because the Boundary Wall Act 1996 states that the
owner of the building shall indemnify any neighboring owners and any neighboring residents for any loss or damage
that may occur to them due to any work carried out under this Act.
Public Footpath Grass Cutting
The Clerk reported that she had placed an advertisement regarding the above in Llais Ardudwy, on the village
noticeboard, and on the Council’s website, and that the closing date was the 28th of this month and that he had not
received any responses yet, although some had expressed interest in the work. The tenders that are received will be
opened at the next Council meeting.

TREASURER’S REPORT
The Treasurer reported that there was £18,240.22 in the bank, £5,816.60 in the reserve account .

The above payments were processesed by the Cllr Robert G. Owen and Cllr. Eurig Hughes approved the payments
and permission was granted to the Clerk/Treasurer to make payment on line or by cheque at the end of the meeting.

Gwynedd Council – £402.50 – reimbursement for cutting grass on public footpaths
CORRESPONDANCE
Gwynedd Council – Legal Department:
A letter has been received from the above department notifying the Council that the road from Pen y Glyn to the
road leading to Engedi Chapel from its junction with the road south of Foel Farm to Gerddi Bluog will be closed on
the 5th of March in order to carry out filming work. The Clerk had already forwarded this to all Members.
Gwynedd Council – Economy Department:
An email has been received from the above notifying the Council that grants will be available to Community Councils
through the Gwynedd 2026 City, Town and Community Council Support Fund, and full information regarding the
grant in question will reach the Council early next month. The aim of the fund is to support capital projects that
improve community spaces, public areas, and contribute to local regeneration, and encourages the Council to start
thinking about possible projects. The Clerk had already forwarded this to all Members.
Gwynedd Council – Highways Department
A response has been received from the TCC Manager and Street Scene stating that applications for street recycling
bins are not currently being processed and that all such applications have been suspended for the time being across
the county. It also states that the Street Scene Service is currently assessing its capacity with the existing resources
to add to the number of street recycling bins that have already been installed. The Clerk had already forwarded this
to all Members.
ANY OTHER MATTER
Cllr. Robert G. Owen reported that himself and Cllr. Mair Thomas that they had attended the last meeting of the hall
committee and it was reported that the financial situation remains satisfactory, having received £300 in memory of
the late Mrs. Doreen Roberts.
It was decided that the committee would charge £175 to Gwynedd Council for hiring the hall for the whole day on
Election Day in May. The next meeting, which will be the Annual Meeting, will be held on Wednesday, March 25th.

It was agreed to hold the next Council on 11th March 2026 at 7.30 p.m.
